I received this pin from Ron Eberhardt, now retired from TxDot. He got it at a professional meeting of the NIGP (National Institute of Governmental Purchasing) in 1998. The pin shows the logo of sorts of Arizona, a state I have visited many times, mostly for its geological content (see Arizona).

Arizona’s most famous nickname “The Grand Canyon State” celebrates its most famous natural feature, the Grand Canyon. Arizona’s other nickname “Copper State” celebrates its fabulous mineral wealth.
